Review: Ipsy July 2017

So excited to get my first ipsy glam bag!  I am new to the monthly subscription box craze, and so far I like what I see!  I am waiting to receive my other two boxes from Sephora and BoxyCharm this month and will do reviews on all the goodies inside every month!

This month is dedicated to lazy bae looks featuring Gudetama, the lazy little egg guy.  I think the makeup bag is super cute.

July ipsy glam bag

In my bag this month, I received:

  • tarte Amazonian clay waterproof bronzer in Park Ave Princess
  • hanalei lip treatment in Rose
  • eyeko skinny liquid eyeliner in Pitch Black
  • Nomad illuminating highlighting powder in Midnight Sun
  • So Susan blender brush (not pictured, was left out of my bag but they are sending a replacement)

I am a bronzer and illuminator junkie, so naturally these are my favorite items in the bag.

The tarte bronzer glides on easily and really complements my skin tone, while giving me that “sunkissed glow” it promises.

Nomad is a new brand experience for me, and so far I am impressed with this illuminator!  It literally goes on the skin like silky butter and I am loving the beautiful shimmer.  I will be looking for the full size in this shade very soon.

Next up, is the eyeko skinny liquid eyeliner.  I usually prefer gel liners, but this one was pretty good.  I was able to achieve a pretty solid cat eye look with it.  The only complaint I have is that it doesn’t go on the waterline, which I guess is pretty normal for liquid marker type liners.  Color and quality wise, though it lives up to it’s hype.  It is definitely smudge and fade proof.  I wore it all day in 100 degree southern NC humidity, and not a single smudge or run!

The lip treatment by hanalei is a real treat.  I am new to lip scrubs and treatments, so this was my first actual treatment.  I know that sounds sad, with me being in my early 30s and not having all this experience, but better late than never right?  I followed the directions with this, using my new Caked SugaSuga cotton candy scrub then slathing on a thick layer of this treatment.  I love the subtle rosy tint of this and the glossy, moisturizing feel it leaves.  I have to say, since using the scrub and now the treatment I feel like my lipsticks and glosses look alot better than before!  Beauty is really a constant learning experience!

Here are the swatches of all the July glam bag

Hopefully, my So Susan blending brush will be here this week!
