Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

So I gave in and ordered the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette from Sephora last week, even though I told myself I didn’t need it.  I kept seeing so many beautiful looks being made with it, so I ended up getting it.  I received it yesterday!

Now this is a complete change in colors from what I have always worn.  Ever since I was a teenager experimenting with makeup, I have always stayed in my “safe zone” with browns, golds and light pinks.  I have always veered clear of anything too bold and daring when it comes to makeup and I decided it was time to change that!  I read on many blogs that this palette complements nearly everyone, and they weren’t wrong!

The 12 shades in this palette are striking and very pigmented, and blends in so easily. There is a mix of shimmers, metallics and mattes.

Ounce is the lightest shade of the bunch and is a light ivory shimmer

Lumbre is a copper shimmer with a gold pearl shift

Dirty Talk a metallic burnt red

Scorched is a metallic deep red with gold micro-shimmer

Ember a metallic copper burgundy (one of my faves)

Chaser a light nude matte

Sauced is a terra-cotta matte (this one is hard to see on my tan skin)

Low Blow a brown matte

He Devil is a burnt red matte

Cayenne a deep terra-cotta matte

En Fuego deep burgundy matte

Ashes a deep reddish brown matte

I used Lumbre on my crease, Dirty Talk on my lid and Ounce on the brow bone today for work and have already had complements on how great the colors go with my brown eyes!  To me this is $54 well spent.

Bear with me here, I don’t yet own a professional camera and I’m still learning how to edit photos correctly.  The lighter colors are hard to see in this picture but the pictures don’t really do them justice as they look great on the brow bone!
