Empties & Review: Garnier And Smashbox

Happy November!

I cannot believe its already November.  This is my favorite time of the year and I am glad summer heat is gone!

I have three empty products that I am going to review, which are

  • Garnier Skin Active Clean Refreshing Towelettes
  • Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance Primer
  • Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb Glow Boosting Sheet Mask

Garnier Cleansing Towelettes

I always wake up super early during the week (4:45 AM) and am always dragging, can’t wake up fully.  A couple of years ago, I found Olay Fresh Effects Wake Me Up Wipes, and fell in love with them because they gave this rush of invigoration first thing in the morning.  Of course they decided to discontinue them just when I was getting dependent on them.  Then I moved on to Skyn Iceland’s Glacial Cleansing Cloths which work wonders, but they seem to always be sold out.  Enter these Garnier babies.  I bought these on a whim at CVS one day while looking for something to closely match my Olay and Skyn Iceland cloths, and I am glad I picked these up!

They have this fresh Peppermint scent that instantly wakes up sleepy eyes and skin.  They also feel cooling and oh so refreshing first thing in the morning.  I know these are technically makeup remover wipes, but this is the best way for me to utilize them.  They are now a permanent item in my morning skincare routine, and if they discontinue them- well I won’t be the same again.

I picked these up from CVS for around $6, and its been worth every penny.

Smashbox Radiant Primer

I received this Smashbox mini primer in September’s ipsy bag.  It was a pretty decent primer, and is suitable for all skin types.  It claims to work to hide pores, but I honestly didn’t reap that benefit for whatever reason.

The full description from Sephora:

This primer is loaded with hyaluronic acid and shea butter for instant, all-day moisture. Its 4K, high-definition spheres blur the look of pores, fine lines, and imperfections. Micro-fine amber and bronze pearls create a warm glow. It evens the look of your skintone and preps the complexion for makeup application.

I did notice though, the instant subtle glow and “radiance” that it left on my skin, and it didn’t feel oily or tacky.

The full size bottle sells for $39; and the mini is $16

Garnier Moisture Bomb Glow Boosting Sheet Mask

So as you may or may not already know, I am starting down a dangerous path of the sheet mask world.  They are a great self pampering “treat” and I feel like I am doing my skin justice by using them.  This was my second Garnier sheet mask, so I am starting to get the hang of putting them on correctly and all that good stuff.  This particular mask contains Sakura extract and Hyaluronic acid for dull looking skin.

Of course, this felt very cold on application, and it includes an extra blue layer that you peel off after you get it situated on your face.  After leaving it on for 15 minutes, I rubbed in the remaining essence and I always have to finish the routine by putting on moisturizer because I can’t stand that tacky after feel.  It made my skin feel very soft and moisturized, as all of these do.  I didn’t like this one as much as the Super Hydrating and Soothing  mask from the Moisture Bomb collection.

I picked these up from Walmart at $2.50!

Speaking of sheet masks, I decided to join Facetory which is yet another monthly subscription box that offers sheet masks!  I chose the “Four Ever Fresh” plan for $5.95 a month, so I will be getting 4 masks which works for me because Sunday nights are my pampering nights.  I felt like this would be the cheaper route rather than buying them individually.  They also offer a 7 mask plan which is $15.95 a month.

That wraps up this post for the day!  Hope you enjoyed! x
