Holy Grail Foundation? L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte

I think I have finally found my Holy Grail foundation

I know I’ve said this before, first about the Infallible Total Cover Foundation and then about the Too Faced Peaches and Cream Matte Foundation, but I really think this is it.

I have learned a lot about my skin over the past 6 months or so, and what I’ve come to realize is that I have oily prone skin.  Especially around my nose, forehead and chin.  So I need a good mattifying primer, foundation, and translucent powder everyday to keep shine away.  I also don’t like the look of shiny skin, which may just be personal preference, and a “now” thing.

A couple of months back, I went to Sephora to be color matched and since I had been wanting to try out the Too Faced Peaches and Cream foundation, I ended up buying that in the shade “Nude.”  But, I think I was color matched while my summer tan was still in the process of fading, and now the Nude was a touch too dark.

After trying a bunch of primers and foundations, from those promising “an illuminating glow” to completely matte, I have fallen in love with L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte foundation paired with Too Faced Primed and Peachy Matte Primer.

The primer has an amazing cooling and refreshing feeling while nixing shine and really toning down the appearance of my pores, especially around the problematic nose area.  And a plus- it smells like sweet peaches!

The foundation blends out insanely well with a flat foundation brush or a beautyblender.  I’ve been using the Morphe RG-6 brush to apply this.  It covers up imperfections super easy, and even though this is considered as having medium coverage, it’s the perfect amount for me since I do the whole sha-bang–contour, concealer and baking.  I am always happy with the end result!  I use the shade “102 Shell Beige” and its a perfect match for me.

I read some reviews on Influenster about this foundation, and they are mixed.  While this works wonders for people with more oily skin, people with dry skin didn’t have such a good experience, as it emphasized dry patches.  I’m just glad I finally found something that works so well and is more affordable!

I know I will continue to use this for a long time to come.
