Review: MAC Natural Radiance Base Primer

Just finished up my deluxe sample of MAC Natural Radiance Primer in the shade “Radiant Yellow.”  I received this in one of my ipsy bags.

I really have come to love MAC’s primers.  They make my skin so soft and matte and my foundations go on perfectly.

Here’s the full description from the MAC site:

A makeup primer that’s specifically beneficial for oily and combination skin types.

A silky gel emulsion, rich in natural ingredients, that hydrates and primes to improve foundation application, control oil and promote smooth texture.  Vitamins E and C protect with antioxidants, while caffeine calms skin.  Illuminating pearl powders reflect optic radiance.  The formula disappears upon application resulting in a beautiful glow.

There are 2 shades available, yellow and pink.  I want to try the pink now since it’s made for fairer skintones!

This primer went on very easily and I didn’t notice any yellow color on my face, which is good.  I also didn’t experience any oiliness or shine, which improved my rating since I hate shimmery primers.  This isn’t as good as the Skin Base Visage primer in my opinion. That one seemed to have more of a velvety finish I found worked for me the best.  I was worried about this making me too oily when I first got it, and it said “radiant,” because usually radiant equals oil slick for me!

The full size 50mL bottle of this primer is $42, and I’m not sure I would spend that much money on this since I favored the Skin Base Visage.  This is still a great primer though!
